Greetings -

This past weekend was the first time in 2007 that the Richard Sachs Cyclocross Team was
all together at the same venue - finally! We took the long road trip down Route 95 to the Mid
Atlantic Region and raced in Wilmington, Delaware and then in Ludwig's Corner, Pennsylvania.
This particular weekend is among my favorites of the 'cross season. The folks in the MAC give
good race, and the Grenogue Cross and the Wissihickon Cross are both perfect examples
of why cyclocross matters atmo*.

On Friday, the plan was to converge at the hotel o'choice where I had secured two suites that
would hold about ten warm bodies. I knew that in addition to the cabal, we'd have the company
of several pals. Matt, Brian, Jon, Justin, Alie, Amy, and myself, were joined by Moocher and
Fetty, the latter being the F in the TGIF restaurant empire. C'mon baby, let the good times roll.

There is a calm and and an excitement level that exist simultaneously in the UCI races that we
do in the Mid Atlantic states. Our group loves the road trips down to this region. Cyclocross has
become incredibly popular these past few years and while some events and venues have taken
the sport to a higher (or different) level, commercially speaking, the MAC brotherhood has a way
of making all their promotions seem so homegrown and touchy-feely, while also putting on events
that cover all the bases. They are all well sponsored and promoted, the courses and amenities
have few peers, and all the racers and spectators have experiences that keep them coming
back season after season.

For the RS 'Cross Team, this past weekend of back to back UCI races was quite a success
atmo. On Saturday in Delaware, Jon put in a great effort and finished 9th in the Elite Men's
event. I am going from memory, but I seem to recall that Justin was mid teens and Matt was
22nd or so. In the Women's Elite race, Amy was 10th. On Sunday in Pennsylvania, Matt spent
the entire race at the front and his efforts netted a 12th place. It was an awesome race atmo.
Justin and Jon were only seconds back at 13th and 16th respectively. In her race, Amy was
11th. According to my opinion, as a group, I think this weekend's racing was one of our best
collective outings in many years. All of our sponsors, suppliers, and pals should be very happy
with these results. Here's a pic of the guys collecting their cash from ace promoter, Tom McDaniel.

For those of you that are fans of celluloid, I loaded another several images on to the team's
2007 Flickr site. Click here to view. I am still having issues with too much sun glare, so don't be
judging these too severely. On the other hand, the MAC races bring out the pro shooters, and I
found many great pics on the sites of Michael Kirk and Dennis Smith. With nothing but the best
intentions, I list some of these master's pics here:

I apologize if there is a duplicate or two in this paste job. Have fun clicking through, and please
note that all images are the property of the shooter. If any are interesting enough for a brochure,
a website, or similar, please contact these cats directly for permission.

Next weekend we will be in several places. I believe that Jon, Matt, and Amy will be in Louisville,
Kentucky for the US Gran Prix of Cyclocross, while the rest of us will do a local race in Canton,
Massachusetts.

Thanks for reading.
