The Richard Sachs Cyclocross Team had an excellent weekend of racing.
Here in the Northeast, we raced in
Farmington, Connecticut on Saturday
and in Northampton, Massachusetts on Sunday. Both days were rated as
UCI C2 events and were also part of the VERGE NECC Series.
VergeSport
does so much to keep 'cross in the public eye, and has been underwriting
this very important series for the past six seasons.
Oh-and-by-the-way, they make the best apparel in the industry atmo*.

On Saturday,
Amy Wallace showed well (and proved that the dark cloud of bad
luck has passed) and netted a 2nd place finish in the Elite Women's event.
Brian Hayes, who is certainly having a breakout season, was also 2nd in the
U23 category in the Elite Men's event. I am also happy to add that long time
RS Team stalwart and 2002 National Champion,
Katrina Davis, is on the
return trail to racing a year after starting a family with husband
Curt. Katrina
was 16th in the Elite women's race.

here on CyclingNews dot com.

On Sunday, the fine results continued with Amy narrowly missing a another
2nd place and received that 3rd podium spot while putting in a fantastic two
days of racing. Brian also did exceptionally well by again getting 2nd in the U23
category of the Elite Men's race. And
Justin Spinelli had a great race,
finishing 10th among the Elite Men, and getting the monkey off his back after
what would have been a 6th place the day before, but for the fact that a poorly
timed mechanical came with a lap or so to go!

Further south, the Hamblens, a.k.a The Coolest Couple in 'Cross (C3),
continued their winning ways in North Carolina.
Jon raced to his fourth
consecutive 1st place in the Elite Men's event while
Alicia won her third in
a row in the Elite Women's race. The couple is focusing on the racing near
their home in North Carolina. Read about the racing and their exploits at
N.C. Cyclocross dot com.

For those so inclined to click through, I have found these links to images
from this past weekend's events. As soon as possible, I will mine them and
these pics will live on the team Yahoo Pics site (link is below):

Now, for those of you that made it this far and need a breath of fresh air,
please check out this mighty fine film, courtesy of Amy. She is certainly
a long lost Coen sister atmo*:

Since I am about to run out of ink, I will wrap this up by mentioning that the road
continue this weekend for two more UCI C2 events that also carry
VERGE
M.A.C. Series
status. On Saturday we will visit
Lower Allen, Pennsylvania
and on Sunday we'll be in
Jamesburg, New Jersey.
