Greetings -

Recently I have been pondering the serendipitous fate that seems to
define the RS 'Cross Team. As a working unit, the 'cross team has been
existence for over a decade, it - the stepchild of all the road teams in that
began back in the early '80s. Well the child is all grown up and has a life
of its own, owing so much of its success to folks like
Adam Myerson,
Dave Genest and his daughter Alicia (now Hamblen), Katrina Davis,
LizBegosh, Justin Spinelli, and of course Jonathan Page. Our 'cross
team has won nine National Championship events since 1997, and the
current cast of characters is knocking at the door looking for a 10th.

None of this would happen or be possible without the support of our
sponsors and friends. Even though we are not a bonifide pro squad,
there are bills to pay, races to enter and get to, and hotels that prefer
to be paid in U.S. currency! To get it done, we rely heavily on our ability
to attract and keep sponsors that feel a kinship with what we are doing and
what we may offer them in return as a marketing vehicle for their wares

In 2003, after nearly a decade of continuous support, our team "lost"
two key sponsors in the names of Brown + Sharpe and Exhibits Plus.
While chasing around looking for replacements to fill the cash void their
departure would leave, a chance online meeting between myself and a
Mr. Roland Murphy of
RGM Watch Company in Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania,
has rolled into what is now the second season of his eponymous (I love
words like that) firm's sponsorship of our team.

I recently asked Mr. Murphy to write a line or three about his thoughts
with regard to this liaison. Here -

When I first stumbled on to Richard Sachs Cyclecross team I new
it was a perfect fit for me and RGM. I have loved cycling and bikes
for along time, I have built up a number of different bikes over the
years for fun. I find cycling very enjoyable to watch and I like to ride
with my family. I love the mechanics of high end bikes, this fits because
I love everything mechanical.

When I started RGM it was trickily out of passion for mechanical
watches, I love watches and I love building special pieces for our clients.
I know Richard hasthe same feeling about the bikes he builds. Aligning
RGM with Richard Sachs seemed like a perfect match, high-end mechanical
hand made watches and high-end handmade cycles. I am thrilled to be
the main sponsor of the Richard Sachs Cyclecross team. And we will soon
be introducing a special addition RGM/Richard Sachs watch.

Here at RGM we love being part of the sport and on Richard's team,
so we hope to be with him as long as he will have us.

EDIT - THERE IS A GREAT ONLINE INTERVIEW WITH MR. MURPHY
AT THE HRWATCHES.COM SITE. CLICK HERE TO READ THE TEXT.

There is a nice page on the RGM site dedicated to our team. Click
here.
Many thanks to Roland Murphy and the staff at RGM Watches for their
support of the Richard Sachs Cyclocross Team!

Thanks for reading!
