Greetings -

FYI alert: I have just received a frame back from RS Cyclocross Team sponsor
and long time pal, Joe Bell - he, of JB Custom Paint. The
gallery in this link shows
the very first Richard Sachs cyclocross frame that I recall making. It was made for
1970s C.Y.B.C. team mate Tom Smith who was a 'cross pioneer in the New England
region. He raced the frame for 2-3 seasons and was once top ten-ed in the Elite Men's
division at the National Championships.

Sadly, T died in an ice climbing accident at Tuckerman's Ravine about 15 years ago,
but this bicycle "lives on" in the hands of one of his pals in northern Vermont. Everything
has to start somewhere. I saw my first 'Cross Worlds at Crystal Palacein London circa
1973 and was smitten. This frame was my first (known) attempt at making a raceable
model for a fellow team mate. It's all part of the DNA atmo*.

Thanks for reading!
